Penn State Miami

Penn State Miami is scheduled to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity (http://www.miamihabitat.org/) as the Penn State Alumni - Miami Chapter on April 24th, two weeks after the Big 10 Picnic. If you would be interested in volunteering please let us know so that we can get them an estimate. Children ages 16 and older are welcome to volunteer with an accompany adult. Also, the Habitat for Humanity - Miami has teamed up with Disney for "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day." For additional details go to: Disney Give. This is a great way to show our community what it means to be a Penn Stater as well as an easy way to get a free day pass to Walt Disney World!


UPDATE:
We had a great turnout this past Saturday at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Midtown. We volunteered from 9am-3pm and helped the store build some new shelves. Then we put at least 75 tons of hurricane shutters out for sale... by hand (Maybe not quite 75 tons, but it sure as heck felt like it the morning after!). A few photos from the event:
